About BOS

Bangladesh Orthodontic Society (BOS) was established in 1993 with the founder President & Secretary General: Prof. Dr. Mohammad Emadul Haq & Dr. Mohammed Zakir Hossain respectively. The office of the society is the Department of Orthodontics, Dhaka Dental College & Hospital.

Aims And objects of the society are as follows:

(a) The promotion of orthodontic and allied dental sciences and the maintenance of honor, dignity and the interest of the orthodontic and dental profession.

(b) To encourage and help in the dissemination of scientific and other orthodontic information among the members by arranging lectures, seminars etc. encouraging research activities and publish journal and other scientific publications with a view to provide higher standard of treatment to the patients, and to , and to undertake various activities for the prevention of dental disease and abnormalities.

(c) To promote and maintain mutual understanding, co-operation, goodwill and solidarity among its members.

(d) To represent the orthodontic profession in its relations and negotiations and to confer with Government or other bodies or persons in regard to all matters affecting the orthodontic profession and protect the interests, rights and privileges of the member of the society.

(e) To establish, undertake, superintend, administer and contribute to any charitable or benevolent fund from where may be made donation or other helps to the deserving persons who are or have been engaged in the orthodontic profession or their dependants.

(f) To purchase, exchange, hire or otherwise acquire any property or any right or privilege necessary or convenient for the purposes of the society.

(g) To promote and maintain good relation understanding and co-operation between its members and the members of allied organization, home and abroad and help in the advancement of the science and art of orthodontics worldwide.

(h) To collect funds through subscriptions, donations any other lawful means as may be decided from time to time and to use the fund or any property of the society solely towards the promotion of the above objects of the society.

(i) To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the above object or any of them.
